We have box offices located at all our sites, these are open from 09:00 am until late (15 minutes after the last show of the day). These are as follows:

• Courtyard Box Office (Pleasance Courtyard - Front Courtyard)

  • Located to the right of the main entrance archway. Accessible from street (5 steps with handrail) or from the main courtyard area via a ramp.

  • This box office has a lowered counter and a hearing loop system. 

• Beyond Box Office (Pleasance Courtyard - Rear Courtyard)

  • Located to the right of the entrance to Beyond. 

  • This box office is situated in a covered cobbled area, it doesn't have a lowered counter or a hearing loop system.

• Grand Box Office (Pleasance Courtyard - Grand Corridor)

  • Located opposite the entrance to the Grand.

  • This box office is situated in a shed with a high window, it doesn't have a lowered counter or a hearing loop system. 

• Dome Box Office (Pleasance Dome - Main Atrium)

  • Located in the entrance corridor as you enter the main atrium. 

  • This box office has a lowered counter and a hearing loop system. 

• EICC Box Office (Pleasance @ EICC - Foyer)

  • Located on the left as your enter through the main entrance.

  • This box office has a lowered counter and a hearing loop system.

Our box office lines are open from midday until 18:00 Monday to Saturday before the festival commences. During the festival, the box office lines are open 10:00 to 17:00 daily. 

We welcome calls from customers who use RelayUK (formerly known as Typetalk).

We offer free carer or personal assistance tickets, please call or email our box office to arrange.

Pleasance is an e-ticketing venue. When you purchase tickets, you will receive an email confirmation with a QR code. If you require a printed copy, you can still pick up your tickets from the Box Office

Latecomers may not be admitted. We always recommend arriving on site at least 30-40 minutes ahead of your show commencing.

Some of our shows may offer signed, captioned, audio described (sometimes accompanied by a touch tour) and relaxed performances. A full list of shows offering accessible performances can be found here.

Please note that for some shows not all performances are accessible performances, you can find more information on the specific show pages for each event. 

For some audio-described, captioned and signed shows you may need to book a specific type of access ticket.

Access tickets may include: 

• Seating in a specific section with a clear view of the interpreter.
• Seating in a specific section with a clear view of captions.
• Booking an audio-description unit if required. 

Access tickets can be booked independently online, but if you have any additional requirements, require wheelchair assistance or need to arrange a complimentary carer or personal assistant ticket, please contact the box office. 

You can find information about relaxed performance adjustments on online show listings, including show pack resources if available. Please ask our box office team if you would like further details.

If you need us to store your wheelchair or mobility scooter while you are in a show, this can be arranged. Please get in touch ahead of your visit to let us know so we know to expect you. 

Hearing loop systems are available in all our spaces, however these must be reserved at time of booking through the box office. If you have reserved a hearing loop, a member of our technical team will meet you at the venue to set up the hearing loop and assist you - please arrive in plenty of time and make yourself known to a member of Pleasance staff. 

Please give our box office as much information as possible about your requirements, equipment preferences, preferred positioning and any other information so we can best help you on the day!

We welcome dogs trained under any Assistance Dog International organisation. We encourage you to let the box office know in advance so we can notify the venue team ahead of your visit. 

You can request large print versions of any materials by emailing the box office. 

You are not required to wear a mask when attending shows at The Pleasance, however if this would make you feel more comfortable you are more than welcome to. Our staff are also not required to wear a mask but they may also opt to wear one. 

There are air handling systems in all of our venues to keep air moving through the spaces either via air conditioning or fans however this air is not filtered. 

There are 4 lifts at the Courtyard. These are located in non-public backstage areas and will require staff assistance to access. If you require access, please head to the Info Shed with plenty of time to request assistance from a member of our staff.

• Pleasance One Bar Lift - this is located in the Pleasance One bar in the building on the left as you enter through the main archway. This lift provides access to Pleasance One, Above & Below. 
• Box Office Lift - this is located opposite the door to the box office. This lift provides access to Attic & Cellar.
• Beneath Lift - this is located in the foyer of Beneath in the archway across the courtyard from the main entrance archway. This lift provides access to Beneath, Beyond & Upstairs. 
• Forth Lift - this is located round the back of the Grand. The only level access to this lift is through the Grand archway - there is no level access through the main courtyard. This lift provides access to Forth. 

We have multiple toilets on site. There are located at the following locations:

• Left as you enter through the main archway in the foyer of the Pleasance One building. There are toilets located downstairs and upstairs. We also have an accessible toilet immediately on the right as you enter the foyer through the main doors.
• In the foyer to The Grand. There is also an accessible toilet at this location. 
• Behind The Grand and nearby to Forth. There is also an accessible toilet at this location. 
• Outside the Attic entrance.
• Next to the Cellar entrance.
• Opposite the Beneath entrance.

There are multiple food stands and bars across the Courtyard site. Mario’s Bistro to the left as you enter through the main Courtyard entrance has a lowered service counter and offers food as well as drinks. For concessions where there isn’t a lowered service counter, table service can be requested from a member of staff. 

Picnic bench tables are available across our site, with 2 wheelchair accessible picnic tables in the main Courtyard. We also have tables and chairs in Mario’s Bistro to the left as you enter through the main Courtyard entrance. The main courtyard area is cobbled. For level access in the front courtyard, there is a matted route leading diagonally over the cobblestones. Matting does not extend into the rear courtyard. 

The closest vehicle pick-up & drop-off point is on East Adam Street, across the road from the main entrance to the Pleasance Courtyard.

There are 2 lifts at the Dome. These are located in non-public backstage areas and will require staff assistance to access. If you require access, please head to the box office with plenty of time to request assistance from a member of our staff.

• Bar Lift - this is behind the main bar. This lift provides access to Jack Dome, Brooke’s Club & the Press Office
• Ace Dome Lift - this is located through the door to the right of the bar. This lift provides access to Ace Dome, King Dome and 10 Dome. 

There are toilets at the bottom of the turret in the main atrium of the Dome. The accessible toilet is located in the corridor that leads to Ace Dome to the right of the main bar. Please speak to the member of staff stationed on that door for access. 

There is a main bar on the upper section of the main atrium, a ramped route is located against the far wall as you enter by box office. There are various places to get food and drink both in the Dome and the plaza outside. There is table seating in the main atrium area. 

The closest vehicle pick-up and drop-off point is at the bus stop directly outside the Dome on Potterrow.

Wheelchair and level access via lift at rear of bar - reached via ramp at the rear of the venue. Use of access to lifts can be arranged on request at Box Office.
